# How can I create my own metric based on BES metrics?

To create metric based on BES metrics, you need to go to the _"Metrics BES"_ tab in the **Admin Panel** on the _"Metrics"_ page. Click on the three dots (next to the name of the metric) and select _"Detailed"_ in the context menu.

After that, click the _ **"Create a new metric based on this"** _ button in the pop-up panel _"Details of the metric"_.

All fields of this panel are already filled with similar parameters and calculations, which are stored in the **BES** system for the selected metric. However, you can change the information in these fields.

To change the access settings for the created metric, in the **Admin Panel** on the _ **"Metrics"** _ page, click on the three dots next to the metric name and select _"Edit"_.

In the _Editing panel_, go to _Access settings_, which allows you to select the roles to which this metric will be available after saving.

|| _Note! Setting access to the metric is related to setting the role. If you grant access to a new metric to a specific role on the "Metrics" page, these changes will simultaneously occur in the role's settings on the "Roles" page and vice versa._
